Ek Villain - Hindu Male

For the big part of the last century the the biggest enemy of the liberal left or the #AdarshLiberal was the free market corporate world. Having lost that battle, they now have a new enemy ... the Hindu male.

The narrative began with the BBC documentary called 'India's Daughter'.  Using a set of interviews with the rapist and his lawyers a persona is created of a Hindu male as regressive, patriarchal, casteist,  animal like creature who believes that rape and exploitation are his birthright.

Nirbhaya's father and her friend who provide a counter narrative are conveniently ignored in the documentary. The documentary gets such support from the left leaning academia that applications of Hindu male students get rejected by foreign univercities as they have a 'rape problem' and are a threat to the women students. NDTV which is BBC's local partner in India stands by the documentary.

Then comes the visit of the IMF chief to India. The IMF chief is asked questions by NDTV on the Indian economy and she ends up complimenting India on being the fastest growing economy in the world. The IMF chief goes on to state that India's economy would outpace that of Japan and Germany combined in 4 years.

Now this is just too much for an #AdarshLiberal. So a young Delhi student poses a question - "Will only the Hindu male benefit from the growth ? "  You can see the video here

And the reaction of the IMF chief was

BBC now erupts with joy on this question and tweets

I will not get into the psyche of the British male who took refuge in debating at Oxford/Cambridge instead of taking on Hitler in the name of peace or the fact that Britain chose not to investigate its MPs involved in the paedophile racket ...

So what is this Hindu male problem that is disturbing our left leaning friends. The west and the left are comfortable with the Hindu male who is semi-educated, lacks confidence, not assertive, is religious and superstitious for he then becomes a very convenient tool to attack Indian culture.

The problem arises when they have to deal with a Hindu male such as Swami Vivekananda, Shivaji, Mahatma Gandhi or Narendra Modi.

Whenever a Hindu male demonstrates competence, confidence or is rational, the west and left have little to counter him and so the next best thing is to attack.....Vivekananda and Gandhi were so much ridiculed before their ideas found acceptance.....

The Hindu male of today has evolved from  generations ago , gone are the old mindsets and with this evolution the best tool anyone had to attack Indian culture is blunted .... and so we have documentaries trying to amplify and exaggerate law and order issues into generic attitudes of the Hindu male population at large

As for the question asked by the Delhi student ... Is it possible to alienate 60% of the non Hindu male  population from the benefits of the growth ?

The answer is Yes but only in communist societies which she represents. Last 5,000 years of Indian history has no trace of exclusion ...

Manohar - One who could win hearts and minds

They say that it is easy to defeat anyone, winning people over is the most difficult thing to do. Manohar Parrikar true to his name dedicated his life to winning people over. My first interaction with Manohar Parikkar was 5 years ago. Elections had been announced and Manohar Parikkar was asked to address IT professionals living in and around Outer Ring Road in Bangalore. New Horizon College was the venue. On that lazy Sunday, I managed to show up at the venue 15 before time. Politicians are known to arrive late but Manohar Parrikar was already there mingling with the IT crowd. He speech consisted of 2-3 stories with foksy humor and wisdom. He wanted the IT crowd to engage in politics, to participate in nation building, I still remember his story "Once upon a time, Goa was known for the best watermelons. Every year post the harvest season, farmers in every village would invite people to taste the best watermelons for free. There was only one condition, they had to spit ou...

Mahaghatbandhan Meltdown

Over the last 9 months, regional leaders had worked very hard to build an anti-Modi front. They did not contest seats, swallowed pride and also shared a platform with the very parties against whom they had contested all their lives. These regional parties did all this with only one hope - survival. They believed that if they all came together, they could put up a credible fight against Modi in 2019. It would be painful for each one of them to concede seats but at least survival was possible. The Mahaghatbandhan strategy was put to test during the bypolls. Vote banks were combined; lifelong enemies (BSP-SP) came together and the BJP was defeated in the bypolls. Mahaghatbahndhan despite its inherent contradictions seemed to work. Desperation was the binding glue. NDA, on the other hand, seemed to lose friends. The Shiv Sena remains miffed as it is relegated to a supporting role, TDP walked out as it was unable to take on YSR at the local level. On top of this, media build a ...
