Tri-Murti Model of Governance

A confident BJP has decided to put in place a team of 'A' players to head its government in UP. This team is expected to be ruthless in implementing BJP's manifesto.

Here are 3 reasons why the the team of 1 CM and 2 Deputies is a good step forward

1) Law & Order - The strength and dose of any medicine has to be proportional to the spread of the disease. Given the rampant lawless and the rise of local bahubalis in the last 5 years, only a strong, no-nonsence leader can deliver on law and order. A leader is needed who can put the fear of the law in the minds of local bahubalis. On this count, there is no better leader than Yogi Adityanath. He will lead the charge to establish the rule of law. Women security will get a boost with Yogi as CM. Yogi's track record as a MP since 1998 has been impressive. His interventions during 55 debates and 200+ questions he put forth during Question Hour demonstrate his administrative and policy making acumen. Yogi is as young as a Kejriwal or Rahul Gandhi but has more political experience than both of them combined.

2) Development - Developing a large state like UP is no mean task. The model of having 2 Deputy CM's who have a history of getting projects executed on the ground will accelerate development in a state which has been a laggard in terms of growth.

3) Reflection of the mandate - BJP won the mandate on a solid Hindu vote. Hindus came together for the first time since 1991 and voted as one community for one agenda - law & order and development for all. The Tr-Murti model is just a reflection of the mandate.

Its good to see a confident, non-apologetic government take oath in UP.  Elections are now over, its time to now move to governance.

  1. The Trimurti model is also in a way, a proactive gatabandhan to counter the future mahagatabandhan.

Mauka Mauka for the Enemy Within

Two things unite a nation as diverse as India - culture and cricket. When any nation takes part in a world tournament and does well very in the initial stages, one would expect the people of that nation to back the team .... Over the past few weeks we had many intellectuals and prominent media houses hoping that India looses the semi finals against Australia ... It started with noted sociologist Ashis Nandy .... According to Nandy, India is suffering from too much national pride and winning the world cup will make it worse... This was followed by a national poll by a leading print magazine Outlook which asked .. "Should India win the World Cup ? "  You can take the survey here Outlook not only echoed Nandy's sentiments but went on to add that "winning the world cup might just make India's macho and hyper masculine nationalism more intense. Over the last few months, there seems to have been an effort to make a pluralistic India into a homogeniz...

BJP Karyakarta has Won

The earliest memory I have of a BJP karyakarta was of my mother''s colleague and friend called as Rajani aunty . Rajni aunty and her family were dedicated, committed karyakartas of the RSS, Jan Sangh and then the BJP.  Their commitment was so complete that they made every contribution they could - tan, man and dhan. Even in the 1980's when the BJP was a very young party, Rajani aunty and her family stood like a steady rock. When Vajpayee lost in the 1984 election, there were tears in her eyes. Rajani aunty used to work as a professor at the Sophia college in Mumbai. Once she asked a rather innocent question in the GK paper - "Who is the founder of the RSS ? ". The secular Catholic management took a very hard view and she was forced to quit her job. For 2 years she did not have a job but never once regretted her commitment to the ideology. Through her trials , she always stood by the Sangh. Her family for generations and decades stood by the Sangh no matte...
