Pakistan's Twin Trojan Horses

India has fought 4 wars with Pakistan. From a military standpoint , India has comprehensively beaten Pakistan every time. We marched into the heart of Pakistan, had a big part of their army as POWs.

But we could not convert these 4 spectacular military victories into a meaningful outcome for India. Our political leadership has been so weak that they snatch defeats from the jaws of military victories. We ended up conceding land to Pakistan after every victory. Fact is that the land mass of India has shrunk by 40% since the British arrived while our population has multiplied.

Till 2016 , Pakistan freely attacked us at will , mocked us at international forums. India was more interested in sacrificing its own interests to uphold values of peace and humanity. We were a soft and a weak state.

The surgical strikes has changed the entire geo political landscape. For the first time the political leadership took the initiative. Taking Pakistan head on , India marched into Pakistan,  took on a nuclear powered country and returned back safely after inflicting huge damages. The operational excellence of the army was matched by the diplomatic swiftness of our political leadership. Pakistan expected some support from the global community, none came .... its stood completed isolated to the point that no one cared to even understand Pakistan's point of view.

When all looked lost and it seemed that India with her political and military leadership had pulled off a spectacular victory, Pakistan knew that India's weakness would emerge in the twin Trojan horses of peaceniks and liberals.

The first Trojan horse emerged in the form of Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal made a very effective case for Pakistan in his video . Kejriwal's modus operandi was that of a true liberal - use international media sources to question the integrity and credibility of India. Kejriwal succeed where the ISI failed ... so grateful was Pakistan that #PakStandWithKejriwal was a top trend in Pakistan. Kejriwal with his video provided the first tactical win for Pakistan.

Post Kejriwal , Pakistan needed another win to put India and its armed forces on a complete back foot. The second Trojan horse emerged in the form of Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi used psychological warfare and reduced the service, sacrifice and martyrdom of our armed forces to dallali i.e. a traceable commodity. Rahul Gandhi's words are so lethal that it will discourage any family from sending their kin to the army.

With 2 quick back to back wins , one hurting India's credibility and another targeting the morale of armed forces, Pakistan is now back with a bang. Once again the military and diplomatic gains lay squandered within a week .

Fact is that there is a Arvind Kejriwal and a Rahul Gandhi in every one of us. We often put our own gains and ambitions above that of society and our country. Many of us do not care if we win but our society and country loses.

Pakistan can be defeated but the wins will never be complete until we defeat the Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi in each one of us.

Vande Mataram !!

Manohar - One who could win hearts and minds

They say that it is easy to defeat anyone, winning people over is the most difficult thing to do. Manohar Parrikar true to his name dedicated his life to winning people over. My first interaction with Manohar Parikkar was 5 years ago. Elections had been announced and Manohar Parikkar was asked to address IT professionals living in and around Outer Ring Road in Bangalore. New Horizon College was the venue. On that lazy Sunday, I managed to show up at the venue 15 before time. Politicians are known to arrive late but Manohar Parrikar was already there mingling with the IT crowd. He speech consisted of 2-3 stories with foksy humor and wisdom. He wanted the IT crowd to engage in politics, to participate in nation building, I still remember his story "Once upon a time, Goa was known for the best watermelons. Every year post the harvest season, farmers in every village would invite people to taste the best watermelons for free. There was only one condition, they had to spit ou...

Mahaghatbandhan Meltdown

Over the last 9 months, regional leaders had worked very hard to build an anti-Modi front. They did not contest seats, swallowed pride and also shared a platform with the very parties against whom they had contested all their lives. These regional parties did all this with only one hope - survival. They believed that if they all came together, they could put up a credible fight against Modi in 2019. It would be painful for each one of them to concede seats but at least survival was possible. The Mahaghatbandhan strategy was put to test during the bypolls. Vote banks were combined; lifelong enemies (BSP-SP) came together and the BJP was defeated in the bypolls. Mahaghatbahndhan despite its inherent contradictions seemed to work. Desperation was the binding glue. NDA, on the other hand, seemed to lose friends. The Shiv Sena remains miffed as it is relegated to a supporting role, TDP walked out as it was unable to take on YSR at the local level. On top of this, media build a ...
